Attention to issues related to air waybills
The issuer of the air waybill
The air waybill should be issued by the air carrier or its agent. Unless otherwise specified in the credit certificate, the bank refuses to accept air waybills issued by the shipping bank or the consolidated carrier. Number of copies of air waybill
The air waybill is generally made in three original copies and several copies. The first original air waybill shall be kept by the air carrier (airline), the second original shall be delivered to the consignee along with the goods, and the third original shall be entrusted by the carrier to the shipper, who may use it to handle export bill of lading with the bank.
The consignee of the air waybill
Only the consignee stated on the air waybill has the right to retrieve the goods. Therefore, the consignee name on the air waybill should be strictly handled in accordance with the provisions of the letter of credit. If the letter of credit does not specify the consignee, the issuing bank should be the consignee.
